A native of Kathmandu, Nepal, he holds formal qualifications in Immigration and Asylum Law from the United Kingdom — giving him a strong academic and practical foundation in one of the world's most complex and constantly evolving immigration systems.
Having lived and worked in the United Kingdom from 2008 until July 2012, Swatantra developed firsthand understanding of life in Britain — its systems, culture, administrative realities, and the practical challenges families face while settling abroad.
In August 2014, at a time when UK settlement pathways for British Gurkhas and their dependants remained largely misunderstood and underserved in Nepal, he began specialist practice — helping pioneer support structures for families seeking long-awaited reunification opportunities.
Before establishing his own firm, Swatantra gained extensive field experience across various immigration consultancies. Driven by a desire to provide a more personal, ethical, and detail-oriented service, he founded the firm in February 2019 in Saraswatinagar, Kathmandu.
Over the years, he has worked closely alongside officials of various Gurkha Veteran Organizations, and developed professional relationships with renowned UK-based legal firms, ensuring robust legal support for larger and more complex applications.
In February 2024, the firm entered a bold new chapter — relocating to Thamel and rebranding as Salpaz Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. — strengthening its reputation as one of Nepal's trusted names in UK settlement and immigration services.
